1- MARKTPLATZ ( PAZAR MEYDANI)
Basel’in tam merkezi olan Marktplaz, Rathaus (belediye binası) önünde yer alan fazla büyük olmayan iki cadde arasında uzanan dikdörtgen şeklinde kalabalık ve canlı bir meydandır. Özellikle cumartesi günleri meydanda kurulmuş olan pazarda sokak lezzetlerini tatmanın yanı sıra kahvenizi alıp kendinizi Basel’in kültür kokan sokaklarına bırakabilirsiniz.
2- RATHAUS ( BASEL BELEDİYE BİNASI)
Basel deyince ilk akla gelen simge yapı şüphesiz kırmızı renkli belediye binasıdır. Belediye Binasının tarihi 1500’lü yıllara kadar uzanmaktadır. Bina Hans Holbein tarafından 1550’li yıllarda yapılmış olup freskleriyle dikkat çekmektedir. Ayrıca bu bina şuanda Basel Kantonu Hükümetine ve Parlemantosuna ev sahipliği yapmaktadır.
Dış yapısı kadar avlusu da ilgi çekici olan bu bina görülmeye değer olup, dışardan avlusunu ve içini ücretsiz gezebilir ve harika fotoğraflar çekebilirsiniz.
3-SPALENTOR
Marktplatz’dan yola çıkıp capcanlı sokaklardan geçerek yaklaşık 10 dakikalık bir sürede ulaşabileceğiniz kapı günümüze 14. yüzyıldan kalmaktadır. Bu kapı eski şehrin ayakta kalan 3 yapısından birisidir. Şehrin en çok fotoğraflanan yapıların bir tanesidir. Kapının hemen yan tarafından keyifli bir yürüyüş yapabileceğiniz botanik bahçesi bulunmaktadır.
4-BASEL MANASTIRI
Kentin bir diğer ünlü yapılarından birisi de Basel Manastırıdır. 9. yüzyıldan günümüze gelen bu yapı Fransa’nın Vosges dağlarından getirilen kırmızı kumlarla inşa edilmiştir. 13. Yüzyılda bir deprem geçiren bu yapı şuanki görünümünü bu depremden sonra yapılan restorasyonla kazanmıştır. Kulelere 5 CHF karşılığında çıkıp kenti keyifle izleyebilirsiniz. Manastırın önündeki meydanda zaman zaman konserler ve çeşitli etkinlikler düzenlenmektedir.
5- OFFENE KİRCHE ELİSABETHEN (ELİZABET KİLİSESİ)
Basel Tiyatrosu’nun yanında şehrin merkezinde 19. Yüzyıldan kalma bir kilise binasıdır. İsviçre Gotik-Revival tarzı kiliselerinin en iyi örneklerinden birisidir. 72 metre yüksekliğinde bir çan kulesi vardır. Kulenin iç merdivenlerinden en tepeye çıkmak mümkündür. Offene kelimesinin Türkçe karşılığı “açık”tır ve bu yapı İsviçre’nin ilk açık kilisesi olma özelliğine sahiptir. Kilisede her türlü etkinlik özellikle de moda gösterileri yapılmaktadır.
6- TİNQUELY FOUNTAİN (ÇEŞMESİ) VE MÜZESİ
Basel’de görülmesi gereken enteresan ve sıra dışı bir müzedir. Müzeyi gezerken insanın hayal gücünün sınırsızlığı sizi şaşkına çevirmektedir. Müze bahçesine girer girmez sizi karşılayan çeşme daha önce gördüğünüz çeşmelerden çok farklı bir görünüme sahiptir. Bu çeşme İsviçreli sanatçı Jean Tinquerly tarafından 1977 yılında yapılmıştır. Metal malzemelerden yapılan bu çeşme fıskiyeleri izleyenlere inanılmaz bir görsel şölen sunmaktadır.
7- DREİLANDERECK (3 ÜLKE ANITI VE KÖPRÜSÜ)
Dreilandereck sınır üçgeni olarak da bilinmektedir. İsviçre, Almanya ve Fransanın sınırında bulunan anıt kuzey denizine giden gemilerin geçiş noktası üzerindedir. Yapımına 1990 yılında başlanan anıt İsviçreli, Alman ve Fransız mimarların katıldığı yarışmanın sonucunda dikilmiştir. Basel’de aynı anda 3 ülke sınırında bulunma şansı sunan anıt dünyanın dört bir yanından gelen turistler tarafından ilgi ile karşılanmaktadır. Dreilandereck hoş bir deneyim yaşamak isteyen ziyaretçilere Ren nehrinde gerçekleştirilen turlara katılmalarını öneririm. Böylece anıtı farklı açılardan görebilir ve muhteşem manzarayı fotoğraflayabilirsiniz. Bu anıtı haftanın her günü ücretsiz gezebilirsiniz.
Anıtın arka tarafına yer alan köprü ise, 3 ülke köprüsü olarak adlantırılmaktadır. Almanya, Fransa ve İsviçre’nin kesiştiği noktada inşa edilmiştir. Köprü, Ren nehri üzerinde Almanya’nın Weil am Rhein şehri ile Fransa’nın Huninge komünü arasında yer alan kemer bir köprüdür. Köprünün en önemli özelliği yaya ve bisikletlilere özel olarak yapılmış olan dünyanın en uzun açıklığına sahip köprüdür. Toplam uzunluğu 248 metredir. Temmuz 2007 yılında açılışı yapılmıştır.
8- MİTTLERE BRÜCKE (ORTA KÖPRÜ)
Ren Nehri boyunca Constanz gölünden kuzey denizine kadar uzanan eski bir köprüdür. Bu köprü 1226 tarihinde hizmete açılmış çeşitli dönemlerde restorasyona maruz kalmış ve günümüze kadar gelmeyi başarmıştır. Etkileyici nehir manzarasına sahip, büyük ve küçük Basel arasında bir bağlantı noktasıdır.
9- BASEL OYUNCAK MÜZESİ (SPİELZEUG WELTEN)
Avrupa’daki en büyük oyuncak müzesi olma özelliğini taşımaktadır. Müzede dünyanın dört bir yanından toplanan 6 binden fazla oyuncak barındırmaktadır. Burada bebekler, ayıcıklar, minyatür evler ve çeşitli maketler sadece çocukların değil büyüklerinde ilgisini çekmektedir. Çocuklarınızla hoş vakit geçirebileceğiniz bir yerdir.
10- BASEL HİSTORİCAL MUSEUM (BASEL TARİH MÜZESİ)
Basel Tarih Müzesi, Ülkedeki türünün en büyük ve en önemli müzelerinden biridir. 1892 yılında hizmete açılmıştır. Müze 6200 metrekarelik bir alana yayılmış olup içerisinde, İsviçre, Almanya ve Fransa tarihine ait pek çok eser bulunmaktadır. Kültür ve tarih meraklılarına tavsiye etmekle beraber maalesef Almanca dışında bir dil seçeneği olmadığını da hatırlatmak isterim.
BASEL YEME İÇME REHBERİ
Basel, İsviçre’nin üçüncü en büyük şehri olup, sizlere çeşitli yemek seçenekleri sunmaktadır. İşte Basel’de denemeniz gereken bazı yiyecek ve içecek seçenekleri:
Fondü: İsviçre’nin ünlü fondüsünü denemek isteyebilirsiniz. Sıcak peynir sosunda ekmek parçalarını batırarak yiyebileceğiniz harika bir lezzettir. Restaurant Fischerstube, Walliser Kanne, Zum Kuss gibi restoranlarda bu eşsiz tadı deneyimleyebilirsiniz.
Rösti: Patatesle yapılan lezzetli bir yemektir. Çeşitli malzemelerle servis edilir, örneğin, peynir veya sosisle yiyebilirsiniz. Bu yemeği geleneksel İsviçre yemekleri yapan restoranlarda bulabilirsiniz. Gasthaus zum Ochsen, Restaurant Kunsthalle gibi yerlerde bulabilirsiniz.

İsviçre Çikolatası: İsviçre çikolatası dünya çapında ünlüdür. Çeşitli mağazalarda kaliteli çikolatalar bulabilirsiniz. İsviçre’nin meşhur çikolata ve şekerlemelerini denemek için “Läderach” veya “Sprüngli” mağazalarını ziyaret edebilirsiniz.
Münsterplatz: Şehrin merkez meydanında yer alan restoranlarda, kafelerde veya sokak yiyecekleri satan tezgahlarda yerel lezzetleri deneyebilirsiniz.
